This week went really fast!  I can't believe how fast the days have been going.  I'm really really hoping that summer means things will slow down a bit.  Next week is going to be even crazier than this week was!

All that being said, it's really hard for me to pick a BEST day this week because my entire week was filled with business.  Truth be told . . . the best day I had since the last time we did a Best Day EVER was probably Sunday - it was Mother's Day, after all!

Mother's Day wasn't anything elaborate or over the top this year.  In fact, it hasn't really ever been that way - and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I'm not an elaborate or over the top kind of person.

This year we did what we do a lot of Sundays - we went to church, had breakfast with Jerry's mom and dad, went to my mom and dad's for dinner and then came home and watched the 2 TV shows we wait all week to watch: Game of Thrones and Mad Men.

So, what made this past Sunday any more special than other Sundays?  Two things really made this day stand out . . . 1) a lot more hugs and kisses and "I love you, Mommy" from the kiddos because they knew it was Mother's Day and 2) I got to take a nap!  :)

Like Janene, I am longing for the lazy days of summer. The entire month of May is one jam packed day after another with no signs of stopping.

Potato had her music program this week like Jordan had hers last week.  What little stars we have. I could pick her little voice out of the chorus and she sang and danced her little heart out!  One of the songs had the kids freestyle dancing to the music. They were all wiggly arms and jumping around and there was Ava in the middle of it all--doing the robot.  She is so awesome. I can't help but smile when I think about it.
Most of my pics include tie eater. (He chomped the entire time.)

She also had a line to say in the microphone (everyone did). She was in the group that recited the alphabet.
Her line was "'D' is for Door. Knock! Knock! Who's there?" and she delivered it in such a way that the whole crowd chuckled -- the only one the crowd responded to in that way I might add! I was really proud of her showmanship!

It was a beautiful day too! Micey got a ride on daddy's shoulders back to the car:

Mother's day was spent getting work done around the house and yard. Usually we have a huge Mother's Day picnic but because May has been such a busy month, the family decided to keep the holiday more low key this year. I told the Mister that I was fine with a low key day as long as I did not have to feed a single meal to a single person.  A meal prep free day is quite an indulgence around here, so I thoroughly enjoyed the Nutella toast and tea the girls prepared for me, Subway for lunch, and Chinese takeout for dinner (you didn't think he was going to cook, did you?) ;)

So what were you up to this week?

  2. Janene--love that you did a nap and Mad Med for Mother's Day!  Always glad to find a fellow MM fan!  And Christine, we rocked the Chinese takeout too--perfect in my book ;)
