Tell us a little more about you:
I'm a mom of all trades that married her high school sweetheart and is currently in the throes of raising two little men (Charlie, 3, and Jack, 1). Parenthood is the most wonderful (but hardest) thing I have ever undertaken. When I'm not blogging, you can find me at the law office (where I work part-time), in a classroom (as an adjunct college professor), or spending time blogging for The Peanuts Gang, Chicago Parent & The Momsay.
You are busy, busy lady! How did you come up with the title of the blog? Why did you choose "The Peanuts Gang?" (It wouldn't have anything to do with your last name, would it?)
Shucks! You caught me! By complete coincidence, we named our first son, Charles. Hence, Charles Schultz. We have a small love affair with the cartoon - The Peanuts Gang - and from there, the blog name grew! I definitely love it and it defines us to a T! I like to think that when Charlie was born, so was our blog!
What is one post that you want everyone who comes to your blog to read and what was your inspiration for writing that post?
Where It All Began - the story of our struggle to have a family. Between Charlie and Jack, I suffered my third miscarriage and found myself pregnant just one cycle after that. Our journey to have a family has truly been miraculous.
Right now, we see your blog as a place to read about your family and adventures. I love your party planning series! I am so not the theme party type of gal, although I aspire to be, so I just love browsing through all of your ideas. You have a such a sweet little family too! Why did you start blogging, and Where do you see your blog going and growing to in the future?
I originally started blogging when I was still pregnant. I had such a hard time staying pregnant (three total miscarriages - 2 before kids, 1 between) and it was a way to document everything. Once we started our family with Charlie, I loved the idea of keeping a virtual scrapbook.
In the past few months, I've slowly begun to transition the blog to incorporate more posts about parenting, crafting, recipes along with places we go as a family. It's a great resource for other moms, but it also brings me a level of personal fulfillment. I love sharing our life in such a unique way! I'm even going to be featured on television tomorrow for outdoor entertaining products!
It's so exciting to see "Mommy Bloggers" shine. Good luck with your TV Spot! Beyond the blog, what makes you "More than a Mommy"?
I went to law school and am actually a licensed attorney, but not practicing! I've slowly fallen in love with the virtual world and PR, but I doubt I'll pursue that. I really enjoy teaching and it's an opportunity to take off my mommy hat for a time. I love catching up on my favorite shows, reading (when I can) and crafting (when I feel up to it!) haha
