I can barely believe that July is gone. Usually by the time August rolls around I get a tiny itch for Fall. I feel an urge to ship the girls back to school. That hasn't happened so far.  I am really enjoying this Summer and having the girls with me.  The August calendar is full and it is starting to remind me of those scheduled and packed days of the school year. Ah well, at least it will ease me into what is to come.

This past week was one full of family and fun.  We had our family reunion this week and I was thrilled to see some faces there that hadn't been to a reunion in years. We were able to orchestrate this fabulous group picture:

In an unfortunate and unexpected turn, my computer crashed this week and in the process I lost all of my pictures.  Thankfully, I had uploaded a few pics of the reunion or I would have lost them. I had some of my best pictures saved online (because I am working on a digital album) So I was able to retrieve those. But there are some that I lost that I had wanted to have printed for the house. I said that I was over it...but the truth is, I'm only over it when I pretend it never happened. When I take time to think about it, I'm not over it all and I still get choked up. C'est la vie. I must learn from this and make sure to back up every picture from here on out!  And I urge you to do the same for your precious memories and important documents.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!  I am going to be enjoying some yummy Italian foods and friendship this week at my Church festival...if you are local, head over to the Festa D'Italiana at Mt. St. Peter today or tomorrow from 5-10 pm for the best Italian Food you can find in the Valley. You are sure to leave there stuffed to your gills with Lasagna, Pizza, Sausage, Pasta Fagioli, and Cannoli!

This is the last week that we really didn't have anything big scheduled until after school starts.  In August, Danika will be attending a program in the evenings to help her adjust to heading to Kindergarten this year.  She'll also have Princess Dance Camp for a week.  School shopping and a few weekend parties along with the family trip to Kennywood Park and you are talking about a FULL schedule for the month!

So - how did we enjoy this last week of nothing to do?  We hung out up at my parents a few days and just let the kids run around.  They seriously have THE best yard for kids the ages mine are at right now.  We put up the 8 person tent and the 2 little pools and they had a BLAST!  I'm the only one who got sunburned!

Have a great weekend!

  1. Christine, I can't even imagine. I'm so sorry! :( We finally invested in an external hard drive last winter, and I've been trying to be good about backing up our photos. Your post just made me dedicate some time to that task this weekend.
