Funny, the best thing that I can remember about this past week is the incredible urge to send all of my kids off to school.

We've been puppy sitting for my sister and that has been quite an adventure too. Her dog feels like she's about two pounds with half of that weight made up by her collar and tags. Our dog is 75 lbs and thinks he's a lap dog.  I had dreams of the two dogs cuddled up together on the couch...but rightfully so, Skittle (my sister's dog) keeps her distance lest she be crushed by the king of flopping.  Kingston really seems to like her though. And this morning on the start of our sixth day together the two of them romped a little in the living room which was a sight to see.

We also made a fun discovery this week while watching Toy Story 3. It seems my youngest has a cartoon doppelganger:

My youngest and Bonnie from Toy Story 3: Twins!
It's a little uncanny, isn't it? She has been insisting that we call her "Bonnie" this week. A step up from last week's moniker.

"My name's Miss Piggy!" She would insist. I'm not sure what commonality she finds with Miss Piggy or why she seems to adore her so much, but I did play along--if I didn't, she was quite forceful with the reminder--Yep, I had a daughter named "Miss Piggy."

We finally got away as a family over the weekend last Friday, Saturday and Sunday!  The trip was . . . interesting.  No doubt part of it was due to the fact that we stayed in a hotel that is almost 110 years old and in the process of being renovated.  I'm pretty sure that it had been left to it's own devices for several years and the renovations are . . . . going slow.  We chose this particular hotel, though, for the convenience  it would provide for our little weekend adventure and it was worth it!

The hotel is actually located inside a little amusement park.  Not really big enough for "big" kids but perfect for my bunch.  It is also right on Conneaut Lake and there is a teeny tiny beach right there that is perfect for the age/size my kiddos are right now.

We arrived Friday night around 8pm.  We got settled and I was pleasantly surprised that everyone (except me) was sound asleep by 10:30pm.  I was worried about the boys not being able to fall asleep outside of their cribs but they did AWESOME!!!

The next morning we had breakfast and headed to the little beach for a bit.  Then came home and showered and hit the amusement park.  After a few hours, we headed back to the hotel and ordered dinner from the restaurant there.  The twins fell asleep by 6 pm and I took the "big" kids back to ride some of the bigger rides while Jerry hung out in the hotel room.

All in all - it was a perfect little weekend away for us.  Not too stressful and just long enough of a break that the kids were excited the whole time!

Of course, I took some pictures:
