Quickly becoming a Friday tradition here, we are playing along at My Little Life for Five Question Friday. Check out this week's questions (Choose one, choose them all! Answer your favorites in our comments section):
1. What album/cd/download are you embarrassed to admit you have?
2. What's the one thing your spouse does better than you?
3. When do you start buying Halloween Candy?
4. Family closets - Yay or nay?
5. Which home/cleaning chore do you hate the most? Why?
1. What album/cd/download are you embarrassed to admit you have?
Christine - I have eclectic tastes and I'm not really embarrassed by any of it. But I guess some of my choices might need explaining: I have many, many Broadway show tunes downloaded because it takes me back to my Show Choir Days--like, before it was cool and then tired. But my H.S Show Choir actually was kind of cool: drawing even the athletes into it. A couple of 190 pound linebackers doing double dream hands. And doing them well. True story. I don't know. We thought we were so cool:

| It was the 90's. I guess I should cut myself a little slack. |
Janene - New Kids on the Block - Greatest Hits. Yep, Step by Step, The Right Stuff, I'll Be Lovin' You and Please Don't Go Girl. (I will now be throwing a blanket over my head and hiding in the corner)
2. What's the one thing your spouse does better than you?
Christine - Jim is a very good judge of character. He also has way more common sense than me. He is the pessimist realist in our family. He is also faster at his math facts. He can run faster than me. Ask my daughters.
Janene - I swear Christine and I end up with more in common EVERY DAY! Jerry is amazing at math - which is the only subject in school that I dreaded. I will yell math facts to him and he just laughs at me and almost instantly gives me the answer. I would have had to write the problem down the way WE learned how to do math, and carry numbers and all that jazz. Oh, and he is definitely stronger than I am . . . he totally rocked while moving out of our house when I bailed on him because I couldn't lift another box.
3. When do you start buying Halloween Candy?
Christine - my typical response to buying everything: Do I have a coupon AND is it on sale? Then it is time to buy! But if stars don't align I will buy it probably the week before Trick-or-Treat.
Janene - Crap. That's coming up, isn't it? I usually wait until the week before, too. I'm no good at keeping chocolate in the house . . . I would probably have to buy more the week before anyway, so I might as well wait. :)
4. Family closets - Yay or nay?
Christine - I really didn't realize that family closets were a thing until I read this question. If the closet is the size of a room than maybe, but I could never fit my family's clothes into one regular sized closet. I guess it does make sense because the putting clothes away chore would be more efficient. But I already make my kids put their own clothes away--which is pretty efficient for me!
Janene - Family Closet? I have to agree with Christine that my family would need a GIANT closet to fit all of our clothes into . . . ask my mother who is currently living with plastic bins surrounding her because I have yet to find enough room at her house for all our clothes. I do have a family underwear container (you know, one of those plastic things with drawers?) and a family sock container . . . only because when you need socks or underwear you know where to go and I don't "waste" a drawer in their dressers for them.
5. Which home/cleaning chore do you hate the most? Why?
Christine - I do not really like changing the sheets. I have my own bed down to a science. But changing my daughter's loft bed? Sweat inducing. Aggravating. I don't like washing pans--usually put that one off for a while. And putting clothes away--but now that I've delegated some of the responsibility to my kids it is not so bad! But no matter how much I loath a chore, I always feel so satisfied when it is completed and it ALMOST makes up for it.
Janene - I can think of a lot that I hate but the one I hate the most is laundry. Seriously. I don't know if it is because I'm doing laundry for 6 people or because after 3 days of not doing laundry I have at least 2 loads waiting for me. I hate carrying baskets up and down the steps (first floor laundry is on my list!) I hate folding and putting away. I hate when I lay down in bed and remember there is a load in the washing machine. I just really really hate laundry.

5. Which home/cleaning chore do you hate the most? Why?
ReplyDeletecleaning the toilet. I despise toilets, they are nasty yucky things.
I'll do your laundry. I love the smell of clean clothes and the softness when they come out of the dryer.
ReplyDeleteThe 90s were totally cool! Embarrassing to look back on, but they were awesome while they were happening. :p I'd be afraid of a family underwear drawer....I just don't trust those little ones to pick out the right ones!
