This week we are sitting down with Blaire from Second Ave Photography.
Good Morning, Blaire! I may have read on your blog that you like coffee. :) I LOVE coffee but Christine is more of a tea drinker. I'm going to assume that you are sipping a cup of joe this morning . . . so instead of asking WHAT you are drinking I will ask this, "How do you take your coffee?"
I am so in love with coffee. Don't get me wrong, I also enjoy a good cup of tea. But there's something about coffee that just warms my soul. I prefer it with a touch of 1% milk and a Splenda, but I've been known to drink it black on those mornings where I'm too tired to fancy it up.
You're a stronger gal than me, then. I've never had a cup of black coffee in my life.
So, tell us, how would you like to introduce yourself to our readers?
I'm Blaire, a SAHM/photog/blogger coming to you from www.secondavephotography.com :) I live my life with a cup of coffee in one hand and my camera in the other, trying not to make a mess while I chase after my toddler.
I'm assuming that Second Ave Photography is the name of your photography venture and that your blog is named after that. I'm curious, though, why did you choose "Second Ave Photography" for your photography business?
My grandpa was a photographer, and he had this awesome dark room down in the basement. Even as a little kid, I just thought the coolest thing in the world was to go through his old photo albums and listen to the stories behind the pictures. Second Ave is where I fell in love with photography.

The very first post I wrote that I was truly proud of is called "Please send reinforcements." (http://bit.ly/RUoGHs) It's about our nap time adventure that day, supported, of course, by a couple of super cute pictures.
Right now we see your blog as a place to learn about you, see some really cute/adorable/beautiful pictures and some other random items of awesomeness. I was totally excited to have found The Fresh 20 from your blog! Can't wait to dig into it deeper! Was this what you expected your blog to be seen as? Where do you see your blog going and growing to in the future?
Thank you! My blog...is a mess, ha! It wasn't supposed to be a blog at first - I really had no direction, and I figured no one would read my random musings. Then I thought a photoblog would be really cool, and would be just like me, since I'm pretty chatty and I always have my camera with me. When I started my blog I really didn't consider myself a photographer, so I wrote about personal things I could support with pictures, like the post I mentioned earlier and "Plumbing With Friends," and on going personal projects like The Fresh 20. But now that I am doing more and more actual photog jobs, I am finding myself incorporating them into my blog as well. So it's kind of a work in progress, just like me. It's funny - a while back I was told I couldn't submit an article for a popular blog in my area because I'm "a photographer" and I literally thought, "no, I'm not..." but hey, I guess I kind of am :)
Finally, at More Than Mommies we know that being a Mommy is rewarding and exciting on it’s on but we also know that there is more to every Mommy than her Mommy duties. I'm sure that photography is an awesome outlet for you to spend some time doing something other than being a mommy but it's also work . . . even if it is work that you love. What do you do for fun, though? What are a few things you do for you that makes you "More than a Mommy"
I take pictures!! I just got an incredible macro lens and it's like my second child, haha. I also love to bake (from scratch) and I'm a scuba diver - I love love love the open water.
